Dr. Nina Smidt is responsible for the operational management of Siemens Stiftung’s working areas in development cooperation, education, culture and communication across its focus regions in Africa, Latin America and Europe. Previously, Nina Smidt led the American Friends of Bucerius Inc. in New York City along with serving as the Director of International Planning and Development at ZEIT-Stiftung. She has also served as the CEO of Bucerius Education GmbH and Deputy Director at the International Center for Graduate Studies at Hamburg University. She has a PhD in literary and cultural theory from Hamburg University and postdoctoral fellowships from Cornell University and Haifa University.
